St. John's UCC
(Under the direction of Becky Brockman, Music Facilitator & St. John’s UCC Pianist)
Music at St. John’s is an important way we worship God. Come and join the song!
The Sanctuary Choir presents an anthem each Sunday from September to May, in addition to special services. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm – 8:00pm and Sunday mornings from 10:00am – 10:30am. Our choir is SSATB, under the direction of Becky Brockman. Anyone interested in joining the choir is encouraged to attend any practice — no audition necessary.
The Celebrations Choir (Preschool – Grade 6), led by Jill Lopez, performs occasionally. All children are welcome. This choir teaches children the first steps in music appreciation. Children also play handbells and learn motions to many of their songs.
Special Summer Music: During the summer, our choirs take a well-deserved break and the congregation is treated to special music presented by talented musicians from our church as well as from around the area. Enjoy vocalists, harpists, pianists, guitarists, and much more!
The Jubilaté Singers sings about four times a year, including at Christmas, and features several members of our Sanctuary Choir. Currently on hiatus.
The Joyful Sounds (Handbell Choir) presents special music several times each year (September-May).
I ask all of you to consider singing with the choir or playing bells with us. We really have fun, and you don’t have to be present every Thursday or Sunday to participate. If needed, the Worship Committee has offered to provide child care, which we could arrange on a weekly basis. Please consider this opportunity. ~~~Becky Brockman
